Preschoolers and kindergarteners will have a blast practicing reading CVC words with these Christmas-themed CVC matching cards. This activity is perfect for your holiday lessons!

FREE printable Christmas themed CVC word matching activity for kindergarten kids. Fun literacy and early reading practice for the Holiday season!

This preschool reading activity is perfect for all of your upcoming Christmas homeschool preschool activities.

This is a low-prep Christmas activity, perfect for preschoolers and kindergarteners. All you've got to do is print out the pages, laminate them, and cut the cards apart. I suggest printing all of the pages on cardstock and laminating them before you cut them out. This will make your activity pack more durable, and will help the cards stand up to hours of reading practice.

Christmas CVC Words

Learning to read CVC words takes lots of practice. That practice should be fun and engaging in order for it to "stick" with little ones.
These Christmas-themed CVC word cards will entertain and engage your beginning readers throughout the month of December.

Each page in this pack has 2 sets of CVC words and picture cards.
Once the cards are laminated and cut out, your young readers will practice matching CVC words to their pictures. First, have your new readers choose a card with a present on it. They will need to identify the image in each gift. Then, they will find the Santa card with the same CVC word on it. It's as simple as that!

Your kids or students can play this individually for independent practice. They can also play in pairs if you lay the cards out face-down for a memory matching game. Kids can take turns turning over two cards looking for matches. If they find a match, they keep the cards and take another turn. If they don't find a match, their turn ends.
