Matching Mittens Teen Numbers

Use these cards to help kids develop counting, number recognition and one-to-one correspondence skills with teen numbers 11-20. This is also a fun way to teach tally marks.

The object of the activity is to find matching pairs of mittens. Kids will identify the number on one mitten and find the matching mitten with tally marks to create a pair.

You can make this activity self-correcting by having the number written very small on the back of the tally mark mittens. This way they can turn it over to check and see if their match is correct.

There is plenty of room for differentiation, so you could definitely use it with pre-k as well as kindergarten kids. Feel free to use different counting manipulatives along with ten frames/twenty frames.
