Apple Number Sorting 1-5

Are you gearing up for another year of teaching tots and preschoolers? Are you looking for a fun, hands-on way to have your little ones practice numbers 1-5? This apple number sorting activity is just what you need!

FREE printable Apple themed activity for toddlers and preschoolers to practice number recognition with sorting numbers 1-5. Perfect preschool math activity for the Fall!

This activity is perfect for your back to school, autumn, and apple-themed homeschool preschool activities. This low-prep activity pack is perfect for preschoolers. Just print, laminate, cut, and go! The apple number sense pack includes five apple-themed sorting mats and twenty number sense apples. I suggest printing all of the pages on cardstock and laminating for durability. This will help your activity pack last longer. You could also add velcro dots to the mats and apples to make the activity more portable.

Apple Number Sorting

This apple-themed math activity is perfect for teaching or reviewing numbers one to five. Not only will preschoolers work on identifying numbers 1-5, but they'll also become familiar with representations of each number.

Print out the number cards and spread them out. Have your preschooler identify the number on each card. Then, have them find the four apples that represent that same number. The number sense apples include tally marks, counting fingers, a cartoon numeral, and the numeral on a colorful background.

If you're just beginning to work on numbers, give your child one card and two sets of apples (a total of 8). This encourages them to use problem solving skills to sort the numbers. As they become proficient with each number, give them more than one card to work with and the corresponding apples.

This activity will help your children work on number recognition while working to familiarize themselves with representations of each of the numbers. This is an important foundation skill as math concepts become increasingly more difficult in the future.
