FREE printable Five Senses sorting activity for toddlers and preschoolers.

This 5 Senses Sorting activity is sure to be a hit with your little ones. It helps to build critical thinking skills while the child figures out which sense is used for each item.

The sorting mat includes a fun picture of a boy, with blank spaces pointing to his eyes, ears, nose, mouth and hand. Cut out the pictures on the second page and place them in the right spaces according to what sense is used.

I recommend laminating this activity so your child can do it over and over again. The activity can also be done as a cut & paste activity, especially the black and white version.

  3. wow...this thing is hard for a child...even i don't know the right answers...and i absolutely do not get the right way to sort these objects according to using only one sense...like you put the rose into nose...but you can also look at flowers...you can touch them...and if you want you can taste them...like there is a cactus there...i feel like for you the right answer is touching...but that is just stupid...you should not teach your child to touch cactuses...and definitely you should not teach them to smell skunks...like what is the answer for the trash can?...for me the only obvious one is rainbow...since it is just a optical illusion, you can only see it...but i'm even not sure about that one either...

    1. Hi, I'm sorry you didn't like this activity. It is difficult to think of objects that you would only use 1 sense for, since we use many senses simultaneously when we interact with our environment. The answers are not necessarily "right" or "wrong" answers, but if you are having a discussion about it with your child and talking about which sense would be the best fit, then I believe the activity has served its purpose.

  4. Thank you for the free printable for My Five Senses. I work with Pre K Exceptional Education 3,4 and 5 years olds. Visuals and hands on activities are so valuable to us! It makes a great game to do with the children in large group and then allow them to work on it independently as a folder game! I LOVE it!!!

  6. This game is very cool and useful for children. Since thanks to her, the child can clearly study the five senses. And it's incredibly cool that you can download and print it yourself. And if listening to the advice and laminate printed pictures, they can be used many times, the children will be delighted. And in general, such diverse educational notebooks are a real find for parents, in fact.

    1. Hello. Thanks for reaching out. Here are a few tips that usually help people who have downloading / printing trouble:

      1) When you click on the download link and the file opens up in your browser, save it to your computer first. Then, open it in Adobe Reader and print it from there.
      2) Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Reader installed on your computer.
      3) Sometimes it helps to try a different browser, for example, Google Chrome is usually the most compatible with our files.
