Pumpkins in the Tractor Counting Mats

This is the perfect activity for preschool and kindergarten kids to do after a day of pumpkin picking on the farm. Just use playdough to create the correct number of pumpkins for the tractor to carry!

FREE printable Pumpkin themed counting and reading activity, perfect after a Fall trip to the farm to go pumpkin picking! Preschool and kindergarten kids will love these mats that can be used with playdough, stickers, dot markers or other things!

These FREE Pumpkin in the Tractor counting mats include numbers 1-10 and are great to use with playdough. They can also be used with other things such as pom-poms, stickers, dot markers, math cubes, etc.

There are many learning opportunities with this activity that go beyond counting and numbers, including reading number words and sentences for an emergent reader.

Children identify the number in the upper left-hand corner and/or read the sentence that goes along with it. That is the number of "pumpkins" they must put in the wagon that the tractor pulls. If they need help figuring out what the number is, they can also count the pumpkins on the wagon located in the upper right-hand corner of the mat. They can also use this picture to double-check their work to see if they placed the correct number of pumpkins in the wagon.

This is an easy, low-prep and fun math activity perfect for a Fall or Pumpkin themed unit in preschool or kindergarten.

    1. Hi, thank you for the comment! You are welcome. Regarding your question: Depending on the file size, it may take a long time to fully load on your screen. You can download the file even if it never loads on your screen. Once you click on the file link, there should be a menu at the top with options to print or download. If you click the download button (it looks like an arrow pointing down) you can save it to your computer. Then, open up the file on your computer in Adobe Reader and you'll be able to view the pages and print.

Also, please make sure you are using an updated browser. We usually recommend Google Chrome to those who have problems with the files and this helps resolve most issues.

If you have any other problems, please reach out to: [email protected] Thanks!
