How to prepare the pre-writing strips:

Simply print the free printable pages. Laminate and then cut the strips. You can skip the laminating part and use a dry-erase pocket instead. Provide a dry-erase marker and the activity is ready to be enjoyed.

How to use the pre-writing strips:

These pre-writing strips are great for independent and individual use. Making it a good activity for a literacy center, busy bag activity or simply a quiet activity to do at home. The pictures on the strips are two items that "fit" together, like a pair. Ask the child to connect the pairs by drawing the line from left to right (writing direction practice). Ask them to try and not lift the marker to develop pencil control.

A LOVEly Valentine's Day pre-writing activity for your young learners to hone their skills and get them ready for writing like big kids!
