My nephew is right at the age where he knows all the characters from toys and lunchboxes but hasn't actually sat through a film yet, so a coloring sheet is a perfect way in. He gets to feel included in something the older kids are excited about without any screen time.
ReplyDeleteThe color-by-number format is doing double work too. My sister has been trying to get him interested in number worksheets for months with no success, but put Yoda on the page and he'll suddenly stay at the table for twenty minutes straight.
We do something similar at home — printables tied to whatever film the kids are excited about that season. Works far better than generic worksheets.
