Easter Egg Hunt Alphabet Game & Free Printable

Egg hunts are one of our favorite things to do around Easter. To add extra educational value, I came up with this printable activity where children can practice letter recognition and handwriting skills while hunting for eggs.

FREE printable Easter Egg Hunt alphabet game with letter tracing, do-a-dots and ideas for more alphabet learning! Great for preschoolers practicing letter recognition and handwriting.

This FREE printable Easter alphabet game can be played in different ways depending on your child's age and skill level.

1. Using a permanent marker, write each letter of the alphabet on 26 plastic eggs. Hide them outside or around the house or classroom. Each time an egg is found, the child reads the letter that is written on the egg. Then the child finds the matching letter on the printable and either traces the letter, places a dot with a dot marker, or covers the letter with a token. Repeat until all eggs are found!

2. Instead of a traditional egg hunt, children can simply use the printable to trace all the letters or mark them with a dot marker while reading them aloud.

3. The printable can also be used with smaller eggs or candy. Write the alphabet on each piece and have the child place the pieces directly on the sheet over the matching letters.

If you have any other ideas on how to play, leave a comment!

  3. I'm planning on hiding the eggs with the letters on them, but then having a sticker in each egg for four year old to open up and place sticker on matching letter. :) This is so great! Eggs-actly what I was looking for this week!
