Winter Letter Tracing Cards

When kids begin to write their letters, they need a lot of guided practice before they can write them independently, including letter formation alphabet practice. These fun Winter tracing cards shared in this post will offer two ways of using the cards, so they can easily be differentiated. Kids will pick a card and begin tracing the letters to help the polar bear get to the finish line. They are so much fun!

To prepare:

Print as many cards as you will need for your group of students. You can print one set and then split the cards so that each group in class can work on a set of letters. Laminate the cards and then cut them up. Before you cut up to separate the strips (the polar bear from its path line tracing strips) – make sure that your students are able to match the letter tracing strips with the letters on the polar bear first. If they aren’t able to do this yet then just have them work on tracing their letters.

For the easier version, show the students that they will be tracing the upper and lowercase letters shown on the path strip. Have the kids pick a strip, say the letter on the polar bear then begin tracing using a dry erase marker. Once the group has finished you can erase the strips and have a new set of students working on them.

For the more challenging version of this activity, have the strips cut apart from the letter tracing strips (guided cutting line shown on the strips). Allow the students to match each polar bear letter card with its matching letter strip and then they could begin tracing the letters. Keep going until all strips have been completed. You can easily set up this activity again and again!

  1. I was searching for some flower-themed aesthetic stuff for my desktop background, and somehow stumbled into https://slots2w.com/slots/flower-fortunes-supreme/. Yeah, not exactly what I needed, but the moment I saw the spinning reels with blossoms exploding into coins, I was hooked. The more you level up, the more the screen evolves — kind of like a blooming garden with cash bonuses. My inner zen was happy, and my greedy side even more. That combo doesn’t happen often.

  4. This is such a cute and practical idea! The polar bear theme is perfect for winter, and having two difficulty levels is really smart for different kids in a class. My little niece is just starting with her letters, and activities like this that feel like a game are exactly what keeps her interested. It's way better than just repeating letters on a page. It's cool how so many things, even simple learning games, are about following a path and making the right connections. Makes me think of other activities I browse online that also focus on patterns and outcomes, but in a different way. Sometimes, when I'm looking for something straightforward and structured to pass the time, I check out options on winwin online It’s another place where clear choices and seeing a path forward are the main points. Thanks for sharing this great free resource!
